🤖 Code & Play at Visual Performing Arts Christian School in Bayamón, Puerto Rico!

During this Tech My School student integration session, learners rotated through two hands-on coding and robotics stations designed to strengthen computational thinking, logic, perseverance, and problem-solving.

🧩 Osmo Coding Awbie
Students progressed into more advanced coding challenges using physical coding blocks to build increasingly complex sequences. As the levels became more difficult, they worked with repeat blocks, multi-step commands, sequencing, and more sophisticated combinations of instructions.

The goal was not simply to reach the next level. Students had to analyze a problem, predict what their code would do, test their solution, recognize mistakes, and make adjustments — the same computational thinking process used by programmers.

🤖 Dash Robots by Wonder Workshop
At the second station, students programmed Dash robots through interactive challenges. They read directions and puzzles on the screen, then used Blockly block-based coding to determine how Dash should move, turn, and complete each task.

When the robot did not behave as expected, students had to debug their programs, rethink their sequence, and try again. These moments build logical reasoning, persistence, precision, and confidence with coding.

Tech My School’s Code & Play program gives students opportunities to experience computer science through hands-on coding, robotics, experimentation, and play — turning abstract concepts into something they can see, touch, test, and improve.

Follow @TechMySchool and support our mission to expand meaningful STEM education, coding, robotics, and educational technology opportunities for students across Puerto Rico.

Service learning in action at Robertson’s Private School in Fajardo. 🌴

During another day of their summer service-learning experience in Puerto Rico, students from Epiphany Manhattan worked alongside the Robertson’s Private School community to help teachers prepare their campus and classrooms for the new academic year.

Tech My School provided bulletin board paper, borders, posters, and other classroom materials, while Epiphany students jumped in wherever help was needed. Groups decorated classrooms and hallways, painted indoor and outdoor spaces, installed privacy screening along school fences, cleaned outdoor areas, and helped teachers get their spaces ready to welcome students back.

One student even brought toys from New York to donate to a preschool classroom. 🧸
Another group worked in the library calibrating several 3D printers previously donated to RPS by Tech My School, helping make sure this technology is ready for students and teachers to use during the school year.

This is what meaningful service learning should look like. It gives students an opportunity to step outside their own school environment, experience a different educational community, listen, contribute respectfully, solve real needs, and understand that service is about working with a community rather than simply doing something for it.

We are grateful to the Epiphany Manhattan students for showing up ready to work and to Robertson’s Private School for welcoming them into their community.

We welcomed new Tech My School team members and celebrated an incredible year for RPS: Ariana Colón and Wilmaris Valentín were 2026 Tech Disruptors Competition winners, while Academic Director Wilnelia Valentín was named Tech My School’s 2026 Director of the Year.

🎮 Kahoot + New Partnership
Teachers started with a Kahoot icebreaker. Through Tech My School’s new partnership with Kahoot, participating teachers will receive licenses to support interactive learning and formative assessment.

💻 Digital Resources RefresherTMS Weekly Media 2026-2027 Academic Year
We reviewed educational platforms curated and funded by Tech My School:
• Epic digital library
• Pathbooks Spanish digital library
• BrainPOP
• Seesaw LMS, including new AI-powered teacher features

📊 NWEA MAP Growth
Our Flock Leader, Ms. Ariana, led a refresher on NWEA MAP Growth, another resource funded by Tech My School, to help educators understand student achievement, growth, and instructional needs.

🚀 What’s Coming
We also introduced this year’s initiatives, including our fall esports league, the next Tech Disruptors teacher competition, and the Flock Innovators Challenge for students.

Professional development at Tech My School is about more than introducing technology. We build educator capacity, provide tools and subscriptions, support implementation, and create new opportunities for students.

Six years later, we are proud to continue growing alongside Robertson’s Private School.

Every summer, students from Epiphany Manhattan Academy travel to Puerto Rico to take part in meaningful service-learning experiences alongside local schools. This year, one of their visits brought them to Christian Day Academy in San Juan for a day centered on STEM, creativity, technology, and peer-to-peer learning.

Working in small groups, the visiting students led a variety of hands-on activities:

💧 Water Filtration Science
Younger students built simple water filters using activated charcoal and other materials while learning about filtration, clean water, and environmental science.

♻️ Sustainability & Design
Students created reusable projects using recycled materials, including bags and T-shirts, while exploring creativity and environmental responsibility.

❤️ CPR & Emergency Preparedness
Another group introduced basic CPR concepts using a training mannequin, giving students an age-appropriate look at emergency response and lifesaving skills.

🦾 3D-Printed Prosthetics
Students explored 3D-printed prosthetic devices and learned how technology and engineering can be used to support people after injuries such as broken fingers.

🎨 Art & Creativity
An art station gave students another way to collaborate, create, and express themselves.

🤖 Coding & Robotics
At the beginning of the experience, Christian Day Academy students also worked with Tech My School educational technology resources, including Dash robots, KaiBot, LEGO Education SPIKE, and MIT Scratch. Epiphany students mentored them through coding, robotics, and problem-solving activities.

Experiences like this show the value of service learning when students are not simply visiting a community, but actively sharing knowledge, mentoring younger learners, and learning alongside them.

Thank you to Epiphany Manhattan Academy and Christian Day Academy for creating a day where collaboration, STEM education, technology, creativity, and service came together.
